This seminar will provide the participant with an opportunity to learn the basic techniques and recent advances on a few selected topics, to present his/her own research, and to discuss his/her work and ideas with others. Confirmed main talks will be given by

Chandrajit Bajaj (University of Texas at Austin, USA)
Yuyu Feng (University of Science and Technology of China)
Xiao-Shan Gao (Chinese Academy of Sciences)
Lu Yang (Chinese Academy of Sciences)

One of the seminar's objectives is to bring foreign experts and active Chinese researchers on geometric computation together to exchange ideas, views, and new results and to build up contacts for future cooperation. If you are interested in attending this seminar and giving a 30-minute talk, please send the title and an abstract to the organizers by March 15, 2002. Your work on any aspect of geometric computation will be considered for presentation at the seminar. Specific topics include:

Computations with curves and surfaces
Automated geometric reasoning
Geometric constraint solving
Geometry software and visualization

Applications in CAGD/CAD, geometric modeling, computer graphics, robotics, computer vision, and education

There is no registration fee for the seminar. Partial financial support for the local expenses of a limited number of participants will be provided. Lodging and travel information will be sent to each potential participant.
