Abstract.
Evolutionary vector partial differential equations with higher order
symmetries and quadratic Hamiltonians with a linear Lie-Poisson
bracket and higher degree first integrals are two examples of how the
classification of integrable systems requires the solution of large
bi-linear algebraic systems. In the talk starting from these
motivating applications, techniques are explained that enable to solve
bi-linear algebraic systems involving hundreds of unknowns and twice
as many non-linear equations.
